Sanded the area around the main spar near the stabilizer hinge. Sprayed
(lightly) a couple pieces of 200g carbon fabric with 3M77; this makes them
sticky and prevents from fraying too easily. Cut the reinforcement patches on a
bias. Applied two (dry but sticky) layes to the joint between the spar and the
skins, as per the drawings. Saturated the fabric with laminating epoxy using a
brush. The rear patches got messed up slightly due to being very small and easy
to get distorted.
The next morning the epoxy was mostly hard but still a bit green. Warmed up the epoxy with a heat gun slightly to get it softer. Trimmed the excess fabric with a knife - this is a lot easier than trimming a fully hardened laminate. Later in the day when the epoxy was fully hard, sanded the edges and all sharp loose fibers.
